Investigation #007
Location: Private Residence
Date: 1/13/2007
City: Lynchburg
State: Virginia
Case details:
One of our members was contacted by a friend who mentioned his house seemed to have activity. Ghostec was allowed to conduct an investigation.
One of the previous occupants of the house in the 1960's was a young woman who had died either by suicide or accident (the exact cause was never determined). The woman had either purposefully drowned herself in the tub in the master bathroom or, under the influence of sedative drugs and alcohol, accidentally drowned. It was this bathroom where the activity centered.
Sue was sick and could not participate. Members on this investigation included Sandy, Peggy, Nanci, Gary, and myself (Jonathan).
The group arrived at 9PM and the owners arrived a few minutes later. After introductions, and history, we got down to work.
Being such a small place to investigate, a single bathroom, we could not engulf the area with video cameras so two cameras were set up and allowed to record for some time.
I set the first camera up and had difficulty placing it simply because I did not have a stand for it, during this time the camera was running.
After a few minutes Gary, one of the owners, Peggy and myself went to the bathroom with additional cameras and digital recorders, the owner told us of the woman and more on the story while we stood in the bathroom recording. We also did a few audio recordings.
The owner and Peggy left while Gary and I continued recording. At one point I heard a knock on the floor outside of the master bedrooom door. Both Gary and I heard it. I asked if anyone was there, and receiving no answer I opened the door to find no one there. Knowing the couple had cats I figured it could have been made by one of them. Shortly thereafter Gary sat his camera on the bed facing into the bathroom to let it record while we were in the other room. During this time, another knock, exactly like what was heard before, happened right outside of the door in the same area. This time the door was open and we could plainly see there was nothing there that could have made the sound. We left the room and let the cameras record.
We started packing up before 11PM, leaving at 11:45PM.
Upon reviewing our recordings we saw that the camera that I had left running while I set up had caught something. As I am trying to get the camera to set up right it was pointed a little towards the ceiling when suddenly a bright ball flashes by the top of the frame. A few moments later this happens again. This is the only evidence we caught on film that night. EVP recordings revealed nothing.
While we did not capture anything more, we feel there is activity in this house, and have an invitation back if we would like.
