Location: Lyn-Dan Volunteer Fire Department

Date: 8/30/2007

City: Lynchburg

State: Virginia

We are not exactly sure why the Fire Stations of old and new carry with them legends of ghostly phenomena, but many of them do. We will share with you as we continue into the investigations of Fire Stations.

On August 30th, 2007, Ghostec had the privilege of meeting the Lieutenant/President, Jason Morgan and his wife Brandi of the  Lyn-Dan Heights Volunteer Fire Department. Jason shared a lot of weird stories relayed to him and others of things that go bump in the night. Their web site is  http://www.company15.com/

One thing they shared was the unusual footsteps heard by some of the volunteers on duty, coming from the upper floor when no one else is in the building. They have also experienced the sound of their doors opening and closing and again, when no one else was there. One member shared his story with us some time ago, that hooded figures had been spotted there, shadow people as we call them. One story was of the lights of the big trucks coming on and then off without anyone being near them.

Ghostec members Sue, Sandy, Jonathan, Peggy, Gary and Nanci arrived and did a walk through the building with K11 meters, digital recorders, non-contact thermometers and the Fire Station’s Thermal Imaging Camera.

We did digital recordings, but did not get any EVPs. We did not capture anything unusual or what we could deem paranormal while we were there. We still have to review pictures and camcorder results. But, we all know, ghosts do not appear on cue. Jason was kind enough to invite us back a later date to follow up with another investigation.

Thank you Jason and many thanks to everyone concerned for their stories.

Sue
